Jeremy Ball

Jeremy was born in South Africa, and settled in his mother's home, England before his second birthday. This early travelling experience was to set the tone for much of Jeremy's adult life. Shortly after completing a degree in Chemistry at the University of Bristol, Jeremy went travelling with Australia being the major destination. For the next 7 years Jeremy lived and worked between Australia and the United Kingdom. It was whilst on a business trip to Asia that he visited Kathmandu, falling in love with the vastness of the Himalayas and the inner vastness of Tibetan Lamas, in equal measure.

Two years later Jeremy quit his career to spend the next four years travelling through various parts of the world with much of this time spent in Tibet, Nepal and the Indian Himalayas. Jeremy described his first pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Tibet in 2001, as being particularly life changing. In 2004 Jeremy settled in Perth to start a family, but has continued his passion of pilgrimages to sacred sites and connecting with ancient cultures. Jeremy has continued to share this passion with others, firstly by opening Transformational Tours, and now Tibet Tours.

Dorjee Tsering

Dorjee Tsering was born in Amdo (a province in the East of Tibet) to a Tibetan Nomad family who had recently settled in Xining. Aged six, Dorjee's mother took him to a monastery to begin his studies as a monk, a few days later his father collected him, as he was missing his youngest son too much and felt that a school education was more suitable for a Tibetan growing up under Chinese rule. After studying at University in China, Dorjee crossed the Himalayas into Nepal and travelled to Dharamsala to study and connect with his native culture more deeply, with the Tibetan community in exile, in India. Dorjee completed the FPMT (Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) Translation School at Tushita Medtitation Centre, Dharamsala. For the next two years Dorjee worked for an NGO which provided him with an opportunity to visit members of the Tibetan Community all over India and visit the Holy Sites of Lord Buddha.

I first met Dorjee in January 2006 at the Kalachakra Initiation in Amravati, South India. Dorjee acted as a translator for a film project I was working on, we immediately hit it off and stayed in contact. The following January, 2007, I brought a small group of people to Dehra Dun and Dharamsala where Dorjee acted as our guide. A few months later Dorjee travelled to Australia and has now made Perth his home.

Rabgey Sangkar

Rabgey was a monk studying at the highly esteemed Labrang Monastery in his native Amdo. In the late nineties he traveled to Dharamsala in India to fulfill his life long dream to meet His Holiness Dalai Lama.

After a few years of studying English and working in Dharamsala Rabgey came to Australia to begin a brand new chapter in his life. Rabgey has since become an Australian citizen yet his heart still pounds for the open plains and high mountains of his native Amdo.
